Creating Postive Flow for Long Term Progress

Training, like life is a constant stream of moments in time. I often find myself discussing this concept with clients when working through some frustrating periods of their training year, or when they might be going through some difficulties within their personal lives or coming up short in attempts to reach their personal, or professional goals. The topic of discussion seems simple; but can be a very complicated matter, that ultimately What you do in a given moment of time is only relevant to the bigger picture of a grander process, and is and will always be a “drop in the bucket.” What you did this morning is small. What you do today, tomorrow, this week, or this month is a fraction of a snapshot of the long game, and given these factors, is only as important as the progress made in success, or the lessons learned from failure. Capturing this mindset and carrying it with you into your personal, professional, and fitness endeavors can make a massive difference for the way you approach success for the long haul. These moments are just a drop in the bucket compared to the amount of time it takes to build a business, chase your dream, achieve excellence, become the greatest. Whatever it is you’re after - it takes time; and a lot of it. The good news is, this means there’s room for error. You don’t have to throw it all away because you slacked off that one time. But the bad news is, it’s not just going to happen because you tried really hard today. These are just minor occurrences - drops in the bucket. What really matters is, what do you let drip in your bucket, day after day, week after week, year after year? One drop doesn’t matter. But leave that bucket there and it will get full eventually - for better or for worse. So, what are you going to fill yours with? Drip drip.
